  Dr. Marlene Paibomesai, Dairy Specialist for the Ontario Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs, will present a CGIL Seminar on Friday, November 1st. The seminar will begin at 1:30 pm in room 141 of the Animal Science & Nutrition building. The title of the presentation is: "The Challenges and Opportunities of the Dairy Goat Industry".

CELEBRATION OF LIFE WILLIAM (BILL) SZKOTNICKI

  Dr. Nienke van Staaveren, a post-doctoral researcher at the University of Guelph, will present a CGIL Seminar on Friday, October 25th. The seminar will begin at 1:30 pm in room 141 of the Animal Science & Nutrition building. The title of the presentation is: "Learning from behaviour to improve animal welfare".

 

Mariana Roedel Peixoto, a Ph.D. Candidate in the Department of Animal Biosciences, will present a CGIL Seminar on Friday, October 11th. The seminar will begin at 1:30 pm in room 141 of the Animal Science & Nutrition building. The title of the presentation is: "The effects of prenatal stress in different genetic lines of laying hens".

Dr. Zahra Karimi, a post-doctoral researcher at the Canadian Centre for Swine Improvement, will present a CGIL Seminar on Friday, October 4th. The seminar will begin at 1:30 pm in room 141 of the Animal Science & Nutrition building. The title of the presentation is: "A new approach for validation of genomic estimated breeding values".

It is time to celebrate the beginning of a new academic year and welcome the new graduate students in our department. On Friday, September 20th, we will host the Annual Golden Boot Soccer Cup and Annual ABSc BBQ (see the poster below). The event was a great success last year and we are counting on you to make it great again! 

Dr. Magda Mielczarek, an Assistant Professor from Wroclaw University of Environmental and Life Sciences, will present a CGIL Seminar on Friday, August 16th. The seminar will begin at 10:00 AM in room 141 of the Animal Science & Nutrition building.
