We are very happy to have with us Dr. Christina Rochus, a postdoctoral researcher at CGIL (UofG), to present a CGIL Seminar on Friday March 4th, 2022. The seminar will begin at 1:30 PM EDT/EST on the virtual platform Microsoft Teams. The title of the presentation is: “Estimating mutation rate and characterizing de novo mutations in pigs”.

Speaker Biography:

Dr. Christina Rochus (Chrissy) is a postdoctoral researcher at CGIL under the supervision of Dr. Christine Baes. Chrissy received her BSc in Animal Biology and MSc in Integrative Biology from the University of Guelph; double PhD in Animal Breeding and Genetics from the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences, AgroParisTech and INRAE Toulouse; and postdoctoral training at Uppsala University, Cornell University, and Wageningen University. Over her research career, Chrissy has worked with several different species including Atlantic salmon, sheep, chickens, herring, pigs, turkey, and dairy cattle, with a focus on using genomic data to study genetic diversity and adaptation in domestic and wild populations.
