We are very pleased to have M.Sc. Caeli Richardson, a PhD candidate at La Trobe University, to present a CGIL Seminar on Friday October 22nd, 2021. The seminar will begin at 1:30 PM EDT/EST on the virtual platform Microsoft Teams. The title of the presentation is: “Implementing breeding values for sustainability in dairy cattle”.

Speaker Biography:

Caeli Richardson is the Knowledge Transfer Genetics Expert at Lactanet, bridging communication across the genetic services team, industry partners, and producers. She holds B.Sc. (Animal Biology) and M.Sc. (Breeding and Genetics) degrees from the University of Guelph and is approaching completion of her Ph.D. (Computational Biology) at La Trobe University and Agriculture Victoria in Australia. Her research focuses on opportunities to improve the long-term economic and environmental sustainability of the dairy industry using genetic improvement strategies. Caeli discovered her passion for the dairy industry while working on a 40-cow milking herd in Canada and gained a global perspective of on-farm challenges and opportunities by exploring dairy systems internationally.
