• Quantitative genetics/genomics and animal breeding
• Genetic/genomic evaluations of livestock
• Developing new methods and statistical models for the genetic improvement of livestock
• Designing breeding strategies for long-term and sustainable genetic improvement 
• Animal systems biology combining the novel –OMICS technologies, statistical genomics and bioinformatics with further functional validation of regulatory target genes and causal mutations in livestock species 
• Computational biology, bioinformatics, mathematical modelling and computer vision 
• Metabolism and functional genomics to improve the health and productivity of livestock 
• Genetic regulation of the immune system and implications to disease resistance in livestock 
• Immunoregulation, immunotoxicology, and immunogenetics of livestock species
