The seminar will begin at 1:30 pm in room 141 of the Animal Science & Nutrition building. The title of the presentation is: "The effects of prenatal stress in different genetic lines of laying hens".
If you wish to attend this seminar remotely, please view the instructions for connecting to Fuze or join the meeting online by clicking here. It is recommended that you check for updates to the Fuze client before joining each seminar. Please connect at least five minutes before the meeting if you plan to do so. Mariana completed her B.Sc. in Animal Science at Sao Paulo State University, Brazil. She first came to Guelph in 2014 for an internship in the Poultry Welfare group under the supervision of Dr. Tina Widowski. In 2015, still with Dr. Widowski, she started an M.Sc. in the Animal Welfare and Behaviour program and transferred to the doctoral program in 2017. For her research, Mariana subjected five genetic lines of laying hens to different prenatal stress models (maternal stress and egg manipulation) and analyzed their effects on the development, behaviour, and stress response of the offspring. She will be presenting the most significant findings of her study.
