This week we are happy to have Dr. Guilherme Rosa, a Professor from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, presenting for us on Friday, April 19th, 2024. The seminar will begin at 1:30 PM EDT/EST on the virtual platform of Microsoft Teams. The presentation title is: “Combining Big Data Analytics and Omics Techniques to Improve Beef Cattle Selection and Production”.
Speaker Biography: Dr. Guilherme Rosa is a Professor of Quantitative Genetics and Data Analysis at the Department of Animal and Dairy Sciences, University of Wisconsin-Madison, USA. His lab research is focused on the development and application of statistical and computational tools for the analysis of livestock data, including beef and dairy cattle, swine, poultry among others. Examples of applications include the analysis of farm-level operational data for optimization of management practices, high-throughput phenotyping techniques for real-time monitoring of individual animals and disease surveillance, as well as quantitative genetics/genomics and breeding.
