Dr. Bo (Eddie) Pan, a Post-doctoral fellow in the Department of Animal Biosciences, will present a CGIL Seminar on Friday, January 31st. The seminar will begin at 1:30 PM in room 141 of the Animal Science & Nutrition building. The title of the presentation is: “The egg does not wait”. Speaker Biography: Dr. Bo (Eddie) Pan is a post-doctoral researcher at the University of Guelph. In 2011, he earned his master's degree from the Qingdao Agricultural University in China, where his research focused on the molecular and cellular approach to development biology of mammalian germ cells. In 2014, he started his Ph.D. at the University of Guekph with the Ontario Trillium Scholarship. The focus of his Ph.D. project was to identify and characterize small noncoding RNA in the porcine ovary. After obtaining his Ph.D. in animal reproduction, he took a postdoctoral fellowship under the supervision of Dr. Julang Li. His postdoctoral fellowship is part of a Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada in collaboration with the Canadian Institutes of Health Research and is focused on leveraging the intracellular mechanism to better understand the ovary functions. In his scientific career, Dr. Pan has published over twenty peer-reviewed scientific papers. This February, he is taking a new position at the National Institutes of Health in the United States.
