Dr. Jan Lassen, a Senior Project Manager at Viking Genetics, will present a CGIL Seminar on Friday, November 15th. The seminar will begin at 1:30 pm in room 141 of the Animal Science & Nutrition building. The title of the presentation is: "Using 3D camera technology to make individual feed intake measures in commercial dairy cattle farms".

Speaker Biography:

Jan is a Senior Project Manager at Viking Genetics, where he focuses on the inclusion of feed efficiency in the Nordic Total Merit index. Growing up on a dairy farm, he had an interest in improving cow performance through breeding. He received his PhD in Animal Science from Copenhagen University in Denmark. He was a researcher at Aarhus University, before joining Viking Genetics. Jan will present a method to take large scale individual feed intake measures in dairy cattle using 3D camera technology.
